11-year-old DJ sets world record for the most songs mixed in a minute.

Talented Jack first stepped into the DJ booth at just three

As the world’s youngest DJ, 11-year-old Jack Hill has spun an impressive list of accomplishments from his decks.

Now, the pint-sized schoolboy – who had to stand on a box to reach the equipment when he began helping his dad DJ aged three – has managed to notch up his fifth world record.
Despite suffering a broken hand, Jack mixed 10 songs in just one minute.
He became the youngest-ever disc jockey to achieve the feat just five weeks after a car ran over his right hand.

The boy, from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, who even has his own radio show, was over the moon with his achievement.
He said, “It was fun making a new world record – I have missed 'DJ-ing' and its nice to be back playing songs.
“I wasn’t nervous because the mix is quite difficult and you only have six seconds per song to cue sync and mix, so I didn’t even have time to get nervous.”
The youngster has his own full-sized decks and mixer.
Now he runs discos on Saturday night and hopes to make it big in the music industry.
His father said Jack was feeling low when a car ran over his hand, so he suggested he set his sights on a new world record.
He said, “Jack was badly shaken by the accident and really upset that he couldn’t spin any tunes for a while.
“To lift the gloom I suggested he makes a new world record – the youngest DJ to mix ten songs in one minute.
Jack practised for a couple of days and said, “Dad I’ve done it.”
“I quickly got the video recorder and sent the footage off to World Records Academy, who approved it as a world record.”
Jack, who is 12 in May, now has five world records to his name including youngest DJ and club DJ.
Tom Howard, of the US-based World Records Academy, confirmed Jack’s incredible records tally.
He said, “Jack’s parents did an amazing job, something all parents should do: encourage their children’s hobby and let them grow along with it.
“During the past few years, we have seen Jack’s development from a very little child who can barely speak into the disco’s microphone to a very confident young boy with a mission: to be the best in his career as a DJ. So far, he did it very well.”
Mr Howard added, “There are very few people in this world to have world records at his age.”
Bob Hill said, “Jack is a complete natural, he has a passion about DJing and is a real talent.”
He has had his own radio show since he was eight and broadcasts weekly on Nova Radio 107.7fm in Weston-super-Mare.
His skills have taken him to gigs as far away as Italy and Spain. He has also had a 10 minute mix played on Radio 1-Extra.
Jack is currently only recognised as holding one official Guinness World Record for being the youngest club DJ.
Spokesman Damian Field said, “We’d like to wish Jack the best of luck with whatever he chooses to do next.”
