In the spirit of Easter, Pink Pearl Foundation, a public service charity organization created to empower women has teamed up with Oaken Events to organize a Cancer Awareness Campaign and Charity Give Away.

The event slated for Good Friday, April 6, 2012, is focused on touching the lives of women living in rural communities by giving small lectures on the awareness and prevention of breast ....

The event will hold at L.A Primary School Complex in the popular ghetto city of Ajegunle, and will feature appearances from Daddy Showkey, DJ Jimmy JATT amidst free screenings and give-aways. Showkey is an Ajegunle veteran who, despite having found fame and fortune playing music, still regularly returns to the area to facilitate development and mentor many. JATT, an iconic DJ, spent his growing years in Obalende, another Lagos ghetto.

Speaking at the Press briefing held in Lagos on Friday, March 23, 2012, spokesperson of the foundation, Mr Onye Ubanatu explained further on the need for the event and disclosed that participation is open to other interested individuals or bodies who may wish to participate. His Oaken Events counterpart further buttressed ‘We want to touch lives and not just organize events. That’s why we at Oaken Events are partnering with Pink Pearl to reach the young, the aged and the children’.

The one day event is expected to be a mixture of fun, music and workshops on how to prevent risks of breasts and cervical cancer.
