Rihanna came under some major scrutiny for re-teaming up with her EX, Chris Brown for two new remixes.  In light of their rather sketchy past, most critics questioned her decision.  Well Rihanna wants to set the record staright! Rihanna called Ryan Seacrest yesterday on KIIS FM, to explain her choice to record two duets with the man that left her battered and bruised just three short years ago. "I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake’ because that’s the only person that really made sense to do the record. Just as a musician despite everything else -- that was going to be the person. She said, "I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track."

So she chose Brown because he's 'HOT' right now. Does anyone buy that. Sure, she is correct, he is one of the hottest R&B singers at the moment. BUt so is Usher, Trey Songz, even Jeremih to a lesser degree. RiRi chose Breezy for the SHOCK VALUE of it all. She loves to push the envelope and she knew that re-teaming with Brown would have everyone's tongues wagging. Mission accomplished!
