Actor and activist, Geroge Clooney has been arrested in Washington D.C. this morning!!!

George Clooney has been arrested in Washington, D.C. during a protest over the Sudan crisis by the uniformed division of the U.S. Secret Service.

Clooney was leading a protest in front of the Sudanese embassy in Washington, D.C. when he was carted away by secret service agents.

Clooney's publicist Stan Rosenfield told TMZ, "They were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women and children. They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world."

The 50-year-old actor, his father Nick and a number of other protesters had been given three verbal warnings by police not to cross a police line outside the embassy before being taken into custody.
With his hands cuffed behind his back in white zip-ties, Clooney addressed the plight of 'innocent children' in Sudan.
'Stop raping them and stop starving them,' he said. 'That's all that we ask.'



Clooney was in good spirits about his arrest. He said it puts the spotlight on the Sudanese crisis. Story still developing.
